At least you didn’t win a CEL

Better than a CEL.

Indeed. Pretty certain it's for the front pads. I knew it was getting close to time for them to be replaced.

True. Just time for new brake pads is all thankfully.

Yeah, it's all better now, it was another throttle position actuator, they actually had in stock so it was only in the shop like 2 days

I’m currently in dealership slot machine mode. My E46 is being poked and prodded. Hoping it’s not a jackpot for the dealer.

Yeah I thought I remembered seeing you post about that. Nice that there wasn't much down time. I'm sure your wallet dislikes you though.

I told myself that when I got the car that I knew it was going to expensive, so I was prepared for it. Sucks it happened while i was unemployed, least I had the money to cover it.

Ugh. Mine are still plugging along after 90k. Any sign they were going before the error codes?

Kinja'd!!! E90M3 > davesaddiction @ opposite-lock.com
09/22/2016 at 16:12

Kinja'd!!!0

Nope, no sign at all. You have any problem with the rod bearing?

Kinja'd!!! davesaddiction @ opposite-lock.com > E90M3
09/22/2016 at 16:21

Kinja'd!!!0

Nope. Last oil analysis was clean. Due for a change and another analysis soon. Knocking feverishly on wood in the meantime - ha! Hoping in the end it’s proven to be assembly error from the factory that only effects a certain, small percentage of cars. Once my car rolls 100k, I’ll probably consider more seriously getting them replaced as preventative maintenance.

I’m at 32,500 and won an inactive TPMS!....

Granted it was fine until the dealer had to replace a wheel that cracked now it’s been on and off ever since so hopefully they’ll finally take care of it next time in.

It seems to be a small percentage of cars and it also looks like it was over blown. Given the fact that BMW never redesigned the bearings and the fact that there doesn’t seemed to be any confirmed trend, it seems to be a random occurrence.

They replaced the wheel and it SHOULD be covered under the 2 year warranty for services and replacement parts. It’ll be close to two years but I’ll give them hell if they give me a hard time because in 2 years it has covered 5000 miles total, never seen winter, and barely seen rain. How’s yours holding up at 77K? Other than this TPMS the only issues I’ve had have been basically my own doing (I.e. O2 sensor that went because a blow torch got too close to the old on inside the cat when I was working to get out the damn lwelt/press studs on the N54 cars when two snapped while removing the exhaust, amazing how bad they get even without seeing salt). Mine is a 2011 335is 6MT currently at 32.5K miles. What’s yours?

Yeah, ‘should’ being the key word there. Hopefully that will work out for you though!

Mine is an 09 328i, auto with paddle shifters. It has the sport suspension and black interior trim instead of wood grain, which I preferred. I think it’s the closest to being an M Sport without actually being one of that makes sense. I’ve heard it called the M Tech package since it has all that and the sportier front bumper. I bought it almost exactly a year ago today in Atlanta with 55k on it. Wife and I love road trips so that’s why I have managed to rack up 22k in a year. I live in Mississippi and drove to Atlanta to get it. It’s been to Vegas and Missouri as well. Only things I have replaced so far are the rear tires, coil packs, and the valve cover gasket. Not too bad IMO for that many miles. I do wish it was manual, but I am very happy with it otherwise.
